This books talks about Girolamo Cardano (1501-76), one of the most original thinkers of his era. He studied philosophy, medicine, mathematics, mechanics and astrology, and was a teacher in Pavia, Padua, Milan, and Bologna.
This volume contains the various versions of Cardano's "De libris propriis", from 1544 to 1562, and includes an introduction and chronology of Cardano's works by Ian Maclean.
