One of the legendary relationships of the 20 century between conductor and orchestra was that of Sir Georg Solti the Chicago Symphony. Solti himself described it as a "love affair": "There is no limit to the orchestra's technical ability; the only limit is the conductor's imagination, and the musicians love to be stretched to the limit to improve the performance... My philosophy became 'Let them play.'" The present recordings show conductor and orchestra at the peak of their music making (lingua italiana non garantita per tutti i contenuti)
