Sono passati tre anni dall'inizio della Guerra dei Cloni. Buona parte dei capi Separatisti sono stati uccisi e catturati. All'appello mancano però il generale Grievous e il Conte Dooku. Obi-Wan Kenobi viene così incaricato di andare alla ricerca dei due per catturarli. Nel frattempo, il cancelliere Palpatine acquisisce sempre maggior potere fino a prendere in mano il comando di quello che diventerà l'Impero Galattico. Questo grazie anche all'aiuto di Anakin Skywalker, che decide di passare completamente al lato oscuro della forza, rinnegando anche l'amore per Padme che è, segretamente, in dolce attesa...
